Alignment Tip

One of the tendencies that I knowI have is that I have a bad habit of getting very open in my set-up. For the most part I ignore it because it is very comfortable and I have always felt that I can composate well enough. I've tried many times to square myself up better to my target but always lapse back to comfort. Well today I went out to hit a few balls to see if I could find something to grasp on to. Since I feel that my biggest problem right now is that I have become way to mechanical and at times suffer from paralisis by analysis, so I am trying to stay away from mechanics for the time being. Anyway what I came up with today, was something that seems to help me line up better without the uncomfortable feeling I get when I put a club on the ground as an alignment aid. Quite simply during my practice swing the only thought I have is to finish facing my target. Sound simplistic I know but when I set up open, when I finish my swing "over my left foot" my shoulders are facing way left of my target. This simple thought has taken my mind of mechanics and all I'm thinking about is facing my target. It provided some possitive results on the range. Hopefully this is something that sticks.
